BT Fleet sell off

BT Fleet, BT’s vehicle arm, has been sold to Aurelius, a German multi national. The sale was announced suddenly, then delayed for a month due to practical complications. CWU is still recognised in the new company and the union is concerned about possible change, following the experience of the sell off of BT Facilities, where successor companies ISS and CBRE have introduced cuts.

Openreach travel time campaign

The CWU has launched a campaign to bring openreach engineers fully into the protection of the European Working Time Directive and to eliminate ‘Personal Travel Time’. The effect of current arrangements is to push people to work unpaid for longer and longer hours. The union wants this contractual obligation removed from existing and future contracts.
